Job Seekers
Skills in the Job Seekers topic treat a job search as a project rather than a run of luck. They cover the stages you actually control: target, meaning which jobs at which places and why you; materials, the artifacts a stranger will judge you on; apply, how those materials reach a human; interview, the conversation plus any homework they assign; negotiate, the number and the other terms once they want you; and network, since most jobs are not the posting you found at midnight. Use the ranked list by starting where your search is stuck, not where it starts. If callbacks are scarce, look at materials and apply. If conversations stall, look at interview and negotiate. Read each skill's own description before loading it, and pick one per stage rather than stacking several that do the same job.

What this topic covers
Each sub-topic groups Agent Skills for a specific situation.
- Target
- Which jobs, at which places, and why you.
- Materials
- The artifacts a stranger will judge you on.
- Apply
- How the materials actually reach a human.
- Interview
- The conversation, including the homework they assign.
- Negotiate
- The number, and the other terms, once they want you.
- Network
- Most jobs are not the posting you found at midnight.
Frequently asked questions
- Which stage should I start with?
- Start with the stage that is currently failing. If you are not getting replies, that points at materials or apply; if you are getting interviews but not offers, that points at interview or negotiate. Target and network sit underneath all of it, because they decide what you are applying to and who sees it.
- How is this list ordered?
- It is ranked by observed search demand, with direct matches for the topic placed first. No single publisher can take more than a capped share of the list, so one prolific author cannot crowd out the rest.
- Can I use more than one skill at a time?
- Yes, but pick by stage so you are not loading two skills that do the same work. A materials skill and an interview skill do not overlap; two materials skills usually do.
- Do these skills replace a recruiter or a referral?
- No. They cover the parts of the search you control: target, materials, apply, interview, negotiate, and network. Luck, including which reqs open when and who else applied, stays outside the project.
How to install an Agent Skill

- From the registry — run npx skills add career-ops-hq/career-ops@career-ops.
- Or download career-ops from its source and place that SKILL.md in the directory above.
