App Development Skills for AI Agents

App Development skills cover the full software lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, release, and operate-and-iterate. A requirements skill helps you pin down what to build, for whom, and how you will know it is done. Design skills shape the solution before and while it is built. Implementation skills turn that design into working software, testing skills produce evidence the software does what was asked, release skills get a version into users' hands, and operate-and-iterate skills keep it running and decide what to change next. Use the ranked list by finding the phase you are in right now, then reading the entries in that sub-topic before browsing further. If you are between phases, pick the skill for the phase you are about to enter, not the one you just finished.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How is this list ordered?
It is ranked by observed search demand. Direct matches to the App Development topic come first, and there is a cap on how many skills any single publisher can occupy.
Which sub-topic should I start with?
Start with the phase you are actually in. Building software is a lifecycle, so a team still agreeing what to build gets more from a requirements skill than from a release one.
Do I need a skill for every phase?
No. The sub-topics run from requirements through operate and iterate, but you only need the phases you are working in. Many teams load one or two at a time and swap as the work moves.
Can one skill cover the whole lifecycle?
The topic is organized around six distinct sub-topics, each with its own focus. Treat them as separate steps and pick the one that matches the work in front of you.

How to install an Agent Skill

Start with the first skill on this page. Claude Code reads a SKILL.md once it is in the skills directory:

  • Claude Code — copy the SKILL.md for vercel-react-native-skills into ~/.claude/skills/vercel-react-native-skills/ for yourself, or .claude/skills/vercel-react-native-skills/ to share it with a project.
  • From the registry — run npx skills add vercel-labs/agent-skills@vercel-react-native-skills.
  • Or download vercel-react-native-skills from its source and place that SKILL.md in the directory above.

How to choose Check the source and the skill’s own instructions before you install. Official and Notable describe where a skill comes from.
